巨人的花園

巨人的花園可以有多少做不同的版本?可以有很多很多!為什麼可以有這麼多的版本? 因為每一個孩子都是不同的,都有不同的想法和想像的方向。

這是其中的一個。

The Importance of Critical Reading and Writing

不停操練試卷,做題對孩子有些什麼影響?為什麼要培養一個孩子批判思考的能力?批判思考的能力對考試有什麼幚助?

如果你也想和我們討論以上的問題,那便到i-Learner參加我們的家長討論會吧!時間是十月二十九日晚上七時三十分。

We're going on a bear hunt!

This story always brings back the fond memories of Miss Matilda and her parents when they were having a storytelling session with the teachers here at i-Learner.

See how the writer tells the story by clicking on the name of the story:

英語也有《狐假虎威》!

英語也有《狐假虎威》!
不過,在這個故事中,狡猾的狐狸變成了小老鼠;而老虎則變成了一隻叫「Gruffalo」的水牛怪!
i-Learner將於2014626日至810日為幼稚園小朋友舉辦Trinity Young Performers課程 See Trinity Time Table。

Martin's Dancing Whales

These two whales,
a mother whale,
a baby whale
are both skillful dancers.
They are spouting,
laughing,
and jumping
with the most beautiful curves,
altogether!

Thank you Martin for such a cheery drawing!

The Magic Spell of Words

I have been enchanted by K.K.'s writing. The words have been magically woven together to build up intrinsic music which is a delight for both ears and eyes. I look forward to reading the second book of the series.

Yana has just finished her book!

Can the girls be friends again? What a surprising ending!

Thanks for the fun!

I love teaching writing. One of the reasons is really the fun from reading students' work. Stories like this bring you not just the pleasure of reading, but quite a few laughs as well. Thanks Ingrid!

The Little Prince

This audio book is so beautiful! It's like music.

Le Petit Prince Audio Book

The little prince has finally found the answer for his question:

What makes a rose so important?

It helps me to answer my questions:

What makes a word so important?

What makes a friend so important?

What makes a child so important?

Merci beaucoup le petit prince.

時間表的秘密

暑期時間表終於做好了﹗

http://www.i-learner.edu.hk/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/summercourse2014.pdf

Where is the sun?

The sun is on the floor.
The sun is behind the cupboard.

The sun is on the window.
The sun is in the glass.

The sun is on my hair.
The sun is on the teacher's head.

The sun is on my glasses.
The sun is on my toes!

I'm very careful!

When Bitbit was a P1 student, he always made spelling mistakes.

He spelt 'beautiful' as 'beatful'.
He spelt 'school' as 'shool'.
He spelt 'mother' as 'mothe'.
He spelt 'house' as 'horse'.
He spelt 'girl' as 'gril'....

His mother always told me that he was not careful.
'I'm very careful,' said Bitbit.

Bitbit was right. He was very careful.

'Bitbit is very careful and he is very attentive in class,' I agreed.

His mother was happy to hear that and she believed what Bitbit said.

Bitbit took a big bite of a thirty-second note -- his favourite snack -- he was happy too.

Can I read it while they are all working?

Most of us will agree we need to pay full attention to the speaker who is giving a presentation or reading to us. Tara surprised me in today's class.

Tara is usually very quiet and not willing to speak in front of her classmates. She nodded today when I asked her to share her writing.

'Let's give Tara a big round of applause!' All the little eyes were looking enthusiastically at Tara.

Tara was quiet. She was very quiet.

Quietly, she said, 'Can I read it while they are all working?'

Oh! 'Let's all go back to our work, children." Bugbug was writing his story again. Bitbit was working on his worksheets and Twist was reading a passage on the Moon. No one was looking at Tara.

Tara's soft voice was floating in the air, echoing with her relief and her satisfaction.

Twist is a Chinese Bug!

Twist is a Chinese Bug. His Chinese name is 春秋。He is a bug from the famous Spring and Autumn Period.

In the famous Spring and Autumn Period, people in China loved to think and they loved to learn. What is more, just like Twist, people loved sports and a lot of them were very good at archery.

In this period, there were a lot of schools of thought. The major schools were: Confucianism, Mohism, Taoism, Legalism, Sophists, Military Treatises, Yin and Yang, Divine Farmer and Persuaders. They are still very important schools of thought in Chinese philosophy. And we are still reading them and learning from them.

Do you like Twist? Do you want to be a good thinker and a good sportsman? Practise and think; think and practise.

i-Learner Bookworms

There are four bookworms at i-Learner. They are: Bugbug, Bitbit, Tara and Twist.

Bugbug loves reading all sorts of books. Tara loves reading English books only. She really doesn't like reading Chinese books. Bitbit reads only music notes or books about music. Twist loves books on sports and he is very keen on Chinese classics. He is our Chinese bug as well.

These bookworms are very good friends. They love each other. Nobody complains why Bitbit reads only music notes and nobody laughs at Tara's dislike of Chinese books. Tara doesn't like reading Chinese books but she loves running together with Twist!
